The Most Cosmopolitan Islands of Greece

The islands have a special style for everyone. They vary from totally secluded islands to cosmopolitan places with thousands of visitors. These cosmopolitan islands of Greece are frequent mooring places for cruise ships and private yachts and they have luxurious resorts with spa, sauna, hamams, infinity pools or golf courts. Here is a list with the most cosmopolitan Greek islands.

Mykonos

Mykonos Island

Since the 1960s when it started to boost as a tourist destination, Mykonos has become a famous place for artists, actors, businessmen, and politicians. Over the last couple of decades, large development projects with luxurious resorts pop up all over the island, creating a sense of luxury. Every summer, the marinas of Mykonos host large private yachts and sailing boats. The narrow paved paths fill in with people all day and night and the bars play loud music till the sunrise.

Santorini

Although nightlife is not as intense as in Mykonos, Santorini impresses visitors with its wild natural beauty and the special character. For many decades, it remains the top destination in Greece and it is often voted as one of the most romantic destinations in the world. Luxury cruise ships and private yachts moor daily in the port of Santorini, giving a cosmopolitan aspect to the island, while many Hollywood stars visit often.

Rhodes

With an intense Medieval character, the Old Town of Rhodes is considered among the best-preserved Medieval cities of Europe. Its narrow paths have lively bars, restaurants and souvenir shops with thousands of visitors day and night.
