The ferry from Italy to Greece runs all year round, but certainly, this ferry connection has more frequent schedules in summer. In winter, ferries from Italy to Greece usually depart from the ports of Ancona, Bari, and Brindisi and arrive at the mainland Greek ports of Igoumenitsa and Patras. However, more ferries operate from additional ports. Here are the ferry routes from Italy to Greece.

From Ancona

Most people traveling by ferry from Italy to Greece depart from the port of Ancona, the busiest port on the eastern side of Italy. Ferries from Ancona arrive in the Greek port towns of Igoumenitsa and Patra, while in summer there are also schedules from Ancona to Corfu.

From Brindisi

The second busiest Italian port for ferries to Greece is Brindisi that serves ferries to Igoumenitsa and Patras. In summer, there are also ferries from Brindisi to Corfu and Kefalonia (Sami port).

From Bari

Located on the southern side of Italy, Bari is the closest port to Greece, which is why the ferry trip is much shorter. There are ferries from Bari to Igoumenitsa and Patras all year round. In summer, more ferry routes are added: in high season particularly there are ferries from Bari to the Greek islands of Corfu, Zakynthos (Agios Nikolaos port) and Kefalonia (Sami port).

From Trieste and Venice

Trieste and Venice are the northernmost ports of Italy and serve many North European visitors, who drive there to take the ferry from Italy to Greece. Ferries from Trieste and Venice are less frequent than from other Italian ports. They arrive in Igoumenitsa and Patras in Greece.

From Ravenna

A new ferry route is launched this summer (2014) from Ravenna to Igoumenitsa and Patras. This route will run only in high season (from the end of July until early September).
